[Bridgette Malone]

Bridgette had been away from Hogsmeade for a while, her sister had been expelled from Hogwarts and she had come home to deal with that some and then she had to go to St. Mungos for some issues she was having. But in the end Bridgette showed up at the shop one day and slipped in looking much the way she used to before the "incident". Not a hair out of place, she went back to wearing it down and she looked more at peace, not as lost and confused as she had been previously.

"Hello Romulus, how are you today?"

She said with all the comprehension that said she remembered this all on her own, with no coaxing or coaching from anyone. Usually it took half the day before to get her to remember things but now it seemed like that was not the case.

Romulus' attention turned from the foe glass on the counter to the door as it opened. He dropped his wand to the floor when he realized who had come in. It was Bridgette, but she looked...different. It wasn't a bad thing really, but something that came as a shock. He couldn't quite describe it. But as she approached he could see something different in her eyes...it was as if she recognized him. Then she confirmed it when she spoke.

"Hey, Bridgette. Er...long time, no see. I'm doing...good. You look great! How've you been?"

He realized she really didn't look as lost or confused as she had been the last time he had seen her. She looked...amazing. It was as if she didn't have a problem in the world.

"Better... thank you... Sorry I have not written or visited. I was... at St. Mungos for a while. A lot of the memories came back, all at once, it was strange. Lotte says she has never seen anything like it. She credits you... you know..."

Bridgette liked that, the thought that Rom helped her return to normal. She did have a slight sadness to her voice but it came and went. She was still getting over the depression in realizing that the pox had taken someone very important from her life. People were here today and gone tomorrow, it was a very sad thought, one that made her hug to herself when she wanted to hurry over to Rom and cling to him tightly.

[Romulus Whiet]

Romulus scowled for a moment when he heard the words "St Mungos" but then smiled sheepishly when she said Charlotte credited him for Bridgette getting better. He felt his ears turn red and was sure his face flooded with color as well.

"Well...I...er...didn't really do anything special. I'm glad to see you're better though. You guys could have wrote me though, I would have come to visit you in the hospital."

He said, knowing his face was still red. He spoke so slowly it could have been mistaken that he could have gone mental for a moment. Then he noticed how she hugged herself as if she felt troubled by something. He stepped around the counter.

"Are you okay?"

"It's better you hadn't. I was a mess and they weren't letting anyone through, not even Lotte to see me until the Aurors had exhausted every possible question about what happened. I would say the place was a mad house but considering the wing of the hospital I was in... that would just be stating the obvious."

As soon as he was around from behind the counter, she moved to him. Bridgette curled her arms around him tightly and just held close. The world was giving way and he was the one thing to keep her from falling to her peril. At least she clung to him as if that were the case.

"I lost someone... very dear... to me... I know its an irrational fear now. The pox is gone again and everything, but I worry... that you could be gone tomorrow. I don't think I could take that..."

"I would have found a way."

He gave her a cocky grin, he probably would have tried every way available to him to go see her. Otherwise he would have gone mad in the waiting room. He thought for a moment and decided it was best that he wasn't told about all of this.

When she hugged him, he felt her worry in the embrace. He wrapped his arms around her and held her as close as possible. He kissed the top of her head as she spoke. He was glad she was better, and holding her like this was something he thought he would only be able to dream of.

"Bridgette," He said in a soft voice, "I'm not going anywhere. I'm as healthy as a horse. Nothing is going to happen to me any time soon. You don't have to worry about me."

He pulled away only so much as he could see into her eyes. He tilted her face up toward his so he could really look at her. His eyes filled with affection for the girl he held in his arms.
