Personality: Diogenes can be generally described as aloof, he holds himself above and beyond what he sees as the petty squabbling going on around him. When needed he can be charming and persuasive, though he would prefer not to have to interact with anyone he views as below him – which is most everybody. He is inquisitive and eager to learn, picking up new subjects with ease though not necessarily having the discipline to stick with them for long before he is off after something else.

History: Diogenes is the second child of Aloysius and Cornelia Blackburn. Coming from a wealthy and prestigious Pureblood family, he grew up having his every whim catered to. Anything he every asked for or desired was presented to him, even his tutors had a tendency to bend to his will. He received his invitation to Hogwarts on his eleventh birthday and, over his objections that he would learn more by being homeschooled, his parents sent him on his way.

There were some interesting things that the classes taught, but for the most part he was certain that he could have received a more comprehensive and specialized education at home. Not to mention that the school was positively crawling with tainted students. In the five years he had attended he was able to count on one hand the number of people that he legitimately respected or considered friends and the majority of them were Professors.

With his graduation from Hogwarts he set about attempting to find something to do with his life to keep things from getting boring. His family continued to dote on him and he had, essentially, unrestricted access to the family fortune so he felt no need to seek out a job. He spent the majority of his time travelling and working with his father who seemed ecstatic that one of his sons seemed interested in learning about the investments that had seen the Blackbourne fortune continue to grow.
