Relaxing (Open)

[Evie Andrews]

Evie was glad to be done with work for the day. It had been a long and stressful year. The lose of her partner then all the paperwork and clue gathering for the trial of the murder had drained Evie. For the past month she had just been making sure that Amilie Youngblood suffered. She had also been looking into this order nonsense but not much was coming up.

Tonight however wasn’t about work it was about having a cold drink and taking some me time. Finding a seat near the fire Evie settled in.

Evie wasn't alone long, eventually a very familiar, lavender haired presence joined her.

"Long day? Mind if I join you?"

Vic had no interest in her usual flirts with guys at the bar or anything of that sort. For a while, recently, she seemed to have been in such a better mood and now she was only in her old bitter mood. Whatever it was that had made her happy before had been short lived.

“Hey Vic. Sure have a seat. Long year…”

Evie said as the waiter brought her a mug of something and she took a sip

“You?”

She asked wonder what had brought Vic such short term happiness. Maybe it had been a guy…though Vic didn’t seem the type to get all wrapped up in a guy and let him become her happiness. Evie wondered if it had something to do with Michael. He was a wannabe Casanova if Evie ever saw one.

"Long life..."

She muttered before ordering one of her usual drinks and settled with Evie.

"Our little Angel has been a real bastard today. Sometimes he just comes on too strong. Said if I said anything about it he'd just point out I was using my veela on him or some crap. I don't even have any of that... he can be so raceist sometimes. Doesn't matter... I complained to the head anyway."

Lot of good it would do since the head was all busy with external matters like the order of lefay and what not, he hardly had time to deal with an internal matter like harassment at work.

Saku wanted to get out and away from the school, ideally he would go home to Finland for a week but that wasn't possible. Or even the states, Ireland...anywhere...

Well, the best he could do was treat himself to lunch in town. The Broomsticks had a killer roasted chicken and veg but as far as the drink would go, it wouldn't be anything booze. Just simple, even just lemonade or water...not even that nasty pumpkin juice. He never liked that stuff.

As he entered the place he first made his order at the bar and took a seat, but as he found himself a table, he'd seen her and he swore his heart fell out of place. He missed Vic a lot, he'd been kicking himself ever since he was an ass to her. Live and learn.

He took his seat and unrolled the new paper he'd been carrying and found something to read.

[Esteban Montez]

Esteban eyed Saku carefully when he entered. He wasn't about to have any more trouble. This time, Esteban wouldn't be so nice. But as Saku didn't order any sort of alcohol, Esteban calmed down and went to grab his food.

"One sec..."

Vic got up and marched right over to Saku and sat at his table.

"Should have told me you were planning on a nigh out..."

She did everything in her power to make this sound like a flirt but her eyes shot daggers at Saku for not notifying her or her superior that he was leaving the school grounds. They cannot protect him if they do not know when he is putting himself in harms way. As usual he was proving to not think about anyone but himself.

He didn't look up, but turned the page of his paper. Took a sip of his tea. Like what her job was not important to him, he was being a jerk, he had to. He had to separate himself from her, it was the only way. She wasn't making it easy either. She said she can't have what he offered because of the stupid job...stupid excuses...there were plenty of aurors who had families..... so...oh bullshit.

He tried hard to fool himself into thinking he could make the break, she just knew the combination to the lock by being near him. He tried hard to hide what he felt inside.

"I forgot. I am sorry...as usual..I leave now, go back to school."

He was almost sorry to even be alive at the moment.
He didn't move right away though, but seemed to first want to finish his tea.
Hell...it may not look like it outwardly but it was tearing him up inside. Only now he had began to show the more stereotypical Finn, less talkative than before at least.

"I'll keep you company to the gates then, I insist."

She was keeping this as work minded as possible. Another Auror around, and now he was an assignment of hers, not to arrest but to keep from getting killed. Yes she had been the one to say she could not have the things she wanted, because of her profession. But he was the one who proved her right by freaking out and pushing away when he found out what she did for a living. She wasn't a mind reader, as far as she knew he still wanted to crawl out of his skin to get away from her if he could and any hint of remorse or pain on his part she figured had to do with his current situation and had nothing to do with them. Anyway she glanced back to the other Auror with a small nod to indicate she was heading out.

"Kuten haluatte."
("As you wish.")

He finish the tea in two gulps, got up and, no doubt she was in tow, he went to the bar to ask that his roast chicken was packed to go. As soon as it was packed, he quietly left the little place and started up the pathway.

Every time he wanted to to say something he stopped himself. There is no way she was keeping this business! He had to try to mend something they had, he missed her. They had a connection he hadn't felt for a long time, jeez, they jammed together...in more ways than one.

But his sadness was because of the heart he broke, he wanted to try to mend it so she would feel better.

He stopped his march halfway up the path, he turned to her.
"Vic...I miss you. I miss what we had, before...I'm still so sorry I did what I did. I know I break your heart, I am the fool. I would like to be friends, if there is a chance? I miss your company."

If they could be friends, he would be good with that. Good friends, he hoped, forgive each other for stupid things they do. He hoped his honest apology would help. He would like those nights they would stay up and just talk, nothing else but talk. Those were fun times.
