In Passing

In Passing

New postby Bridgette Malone » Tue Mar 08, 2011 8:46 am

With Aiden to keep her from turning back, or trying to hide, Bridgette had come to the spot just outside the library where she would watch Jason pass on certain days. Always before she did this from the privacy of the library but today she stood in the hall to remain plainly visible.

"Thank you..."

She whispered softly to Aiden as she slipped her hand free of his so that anyone passing might not get the idea that she and Aiden were an item. That and with her hand free she felt like she might be able to flee the scene if she got too nervous.

Jason slowly walked down the hallway. He kept his eye out for his little brother. Who knows where that kid could go. Jason got worn out just from watching him. But, also, being a Ravenclaw Prefect, Jason found in extra important to keep an eye on Trevor. The kid was so full of energy, he probably would get into trouble sooner or later.

As he passed the library he took a quick glance in, to see if anyone was in there he knew. One of these days he was going to go in there. He never found the time to though. Just as he looked, his pen fell out of his grasp and onto the floor in front of Aiden.

Smiling slightly, he nodded as if to say you are welcome. While they waited, he couldn't help but wink at a girl walking by. So this was the confidence that she was talking about. Aiden smiled to himself. He glanced at his feet and a pen came sliding to his feet. After picking it up and looking up to see Jason, he looked at Bridgette from the corner of his eye.

"This yours?

He handed the pen over. He glanced around, noticing not many people around the hallway for it to be a class dismissing.

"Hey Jason, what class are you coming from?"

Of course, Aiden didn't forget to introduce Bridgette but he wanted to start a conversation so Jason didn't just walk away after getting his pen back.

Naturally she envied Aiden's ability to give even the smallest flirt in passing. Not that she ever wanted to go winking at boys around school but maybe just the one. Speaking of which, Jason arrived on schedule and she froze like a deer in the headlights. Her heart fluttered out of control and her breath became short.

How was it that he simply had to be in the same general area and she could react so much? Snapping herself out of it, as much as possible, she took a curious step closer to the young men. Though it was just a small half step it felt like she had just pushed herself a mile for the effort it took to come closer and not dash away. Always before if Jason so much as glanced into the Library she would dash away or hide her face in a book as if she had been innocently reading the whole time and not waiting for him to pass.

Despite her inner conflict Bridgette smiled softly, her moon-like gaze was full and dazzling as the moon herself. Even her nervous face was sweet without effort. Though she hadn't uttered a word, her facial expression was almost similar to a "Hello" to both Jason and Aiden. Speak, she tried to remind herself but nothing would bubble forth.

Despite Jason reaching out to get his pen, Aiden had grabbed it and handed it out to Jason. Smiling, Jason took it and glanced over at the girl who Aiden was standing by.

"Oh, I have animagus training with Professor Astra. It's ridiculous how tedious it can be."

He smiled again at both Aiden and the girl. He wondered why he hadn't really seen her before. She slightly had the same characteristics as Aiden but yet not enough to make them seem related. He figured she was also part veela.

"Yeah, I wouldn't know what that's like."

He noticed Jason looking at Bridgette and smiled. He hoped she wouldn't become to scared or nervous and run. The only problem that Aiden had with Jason was that Jason was almost too good. If Aiden didn't get caught in the hallway last year, he could have been a prefect. Sure, prefects weren't always the most respected but the teachers would at least trust him more.

"Jason, this is Bridgette. Probably one of the coolest girls you will meet."

He decided to try to talk her up so in case she messed up, Jason still would think she was cool. What he said wasn't a lie though. Bridgette was pretty awesome. Now that he saw Jason and Bridgette by each other, he could tell they would be a really cute couple.

When Jason spoke, Bridgette's eyes seemed to become glazed as if the lights were on but no one was home. How easy it was for her to slip into day dreams when he was around but at least her heart wasn't racing like she had just danced the hardest bits of Swan Lake ten times over.

Thankfully Aiden speaking was like a breath of fresh air or a splash of cool water to bring her back to the here and now. She giggled musically when Aiden called her the coolest and shook her head remembering what he said before. Talk like she didn't care what was thought of her words.

"You don't expect him to meet many then do you Aiden"

She teased of him as if there were a million "cooler" girls around but it was sweet of him to say.

"Have you managed to do it? The animagus I mean, not meeting other girls. Er.. I mean... I wish I could be a swan, if anything."

She held a shimmering blush already so embarrassed. It wasn't her place to ask if he met someone else around, of course he would have, he was amazing. As for animagus training, if it weren't virtually impossible for someone with magical creature in their bloodline to change forms then she would have tried for it this year just to see if she could.

Jason brushed the hair out of his eyes and shifted his weight to his other leg. He snickered as Aiden introduced the girl.

"Hey, it's nice to meet you."

He genitally held out his hand, to shake hers. If it wasn't for his other classes, he probably would be able to change by now.

"I sort of, well, I'm not sure. I'm aiming for a black coyote. Professor Astra is helping me. Swans are pretty. I can see you being a swan."

He wasn't sure though, it wasn't all about looks. It was about personality and how they relate with others. Coyotes were pact animals and if anything, Jason was a very social person.

Bridgette's eyes followed Jason's movements intently, especially when he fixed his hair. She did enjoy the look of his hair, so much that she wanted to run her fingers through. Of course she refrained because it would be very rude to just walk up and start touching someone or any part of them that held interest.

"You can decide the color when you shift? I have never seen a black coyote before. Do they exist?"

She had seen black swans before but she would not want to be one of those at all. Nervously she twiddled her fingers until she caught herself and forced herself to stop.

"Sorry, I get nervous..."

Now she fretted and feared that he would think her utterly strange. In a panic she looked for Aiden as a distraction. It wasn't working, she was half ready to run away.

"Coyotes. They are like those mini wolf fox things?"

Aiden smiled and glanced at Bridgette, giving her a look that said it's okay. He knew what coyotes were, he just wanted to join in the conversation with them. Plus Bridgette wouldn't look that bad then.
