Lesson 1 2011

[Nariko Tanaka]

Nariko looked at her broom a moment blinking. It wasn't that she didn't know how to care for her broom she was just a little fried to try and figure out some random issue with her broom. With a soft sigh she set to task hoping she would find the issue quickly.

[Peter Hook]

Eventually Peter decided to join the class. He settled right beside Rikki, and gave her broom a good once over before he started to look over his own and tended to the problem of his.

"Not a bad game against Ravenclaw... You team went up one side of them and down the other..."

[Serpentine Kuntzler]

So quietly, he may not even have be noticed, Penn approached Nariko and stood behind her glancing over her broom. Like last year in a different class he reached round her and guided her hand to the problem. It was a wonder if he was mute, he never uttered a word, at least not that anyone could admit to hearing, not even in the Slytherin commons.

[Tommy Ashbourne]

Tommy smiled for the hug Poppet gave him then turned his attention to his own broom before Penn made a movement that caught his attention. Hmmm... he wondered about Penn and the Ravenclaw, maybe they were a thing on the DL. Since everything Penn did was on the DL it seemed.

[Voss Prince]

Since the little first year was keeping the professor occupied, Voss slipped in and settled where the other Slytherins were congregated and took to repairing his broom with the hope that his late arrival had gone unnoticed.

"Not a bad game against Ravenclaw... You team went up one side of them and down the other..."

Rikki had found the issue with her broom and was currently working on fixing it. She nodded to Peters words and mad and Uh Hu sound.

"Doesn't count though. Their short half a team. Not much challange in beating half a team. Now when we play Slytherin...then the game will be on."

She looked up and smiled at Peter. They were both Seekers this year so it was going to be a good game.

Nariko nearly jumped a mile when Penn reached around her like that. She had no clue he was behind her and in her frazzled state it had been a bit of a shock. Turning her head and seeing Penn Nariko smiled.

“Oh…it’s you Draco. Nearly scared me to death. Your so quiet…like a ninja.”

She said with a sleepy smile. Nariko was all to happy to let Penn guide her hands. Unlike last year Nariko was letting him totally guide her. She seemed exhausted and near ready to fall asleep right there.

“Sorry…”

She said softly trying to snap out of it and not have him basically do the work as he did for Draco.

Hearing his name Draco looked over to see Nariko talking to Penn and he about died laughing.

"Sie glaubt, du bist mich Penn..."
(Penn, she thinks you are me.)

Draco taunted and let a cruel little laugh before he went back to the easy work on his broom Penn left for him.

Instead of getting mad at Nariko, which was Draco's intention in saying that, Penn just shot Draco a threatening look before he returned to helping Nariko with her broom. He gave a concerned expression for how tired she looked. Finally he took the broom from her completely and settled down beside her so she could rest on him if she wanted and he easily fixed her broom for her so she could rest. It was a hard time of year, studying for NEWTs, even more difficult to have that and having a lofty responsibilities like being Head Girl and her house Quidditch Captain hanging over her head.

When Draco started his cackling Nariko blushed a bit realizing, in her tired state, that she had called Penn Draco.

“Oh…I’m sorry Penn…I knew it was you and I meant to say Penn…my brain is just a bit muddled right now.”

Everything was pressing down on Nariko or at least it felt that way. Maybe this was why Jamal had been so high strung. Seventh year was hard enough but to top that off with two school position Nariko had to be a glutton for punishment.

Nariko had thought to protest when Penn took the broom but she couldn’t muster the needed energy. Without hesitation Nariko leaned on Penn her head resting on his shoulder.

“Thanks Penn…”

She muttered rather sleepily. There was no way she could take a full on nap in class but at least she could rest.
