The Right Moment (Open)

Re: The Right Moment (Open)

"Or... you could always ask your local ghost to slip on in and open the door for you from the inside... when no one is around anyway..."

Said Paul in his best haunting voice as he came up through the table so that his head was in the middle of a bowl of fruit but stopped himself there.

"Look... I'm a fruit salad..."

Becoming a ghost was the coolest thing that ever happened to Paul outside of some wicked pranks he pulled here when he was a kid. If he had to die, to die and come back as another Peeves for this place was the way to go.

Sajan laughed. Ghosts were so cool. "Actually, I was thinking of Christian. Remember the pixie prank? I mean Tommy helped with it but it had to have been all Christian's idea. He's not really friends with anyone well maybe except for Tommy. And he's Captain of the Slytherin team so he never has to worry about retaliation."

It must be nice to above having to worry about those sort of things. Anyone does anything Christian doesn't like, he can simply threaten to kick them off the team.

"And he might even have some connections to getting some Nifflers...though," Sajan grinned, "catching them would be lots of fun."

Sajan leaned in close and spoke quietly. "Though, we need to make sure Peter's in the Common room when we do this...or maybe set them loose in his dormitory. We just need to make sure everyone knows he's the one that's targeted. We don't want the rest of the Slytherin House coming after us."

Poppet suddenly went rigid, ghosts always scared her for a second, but then she relaxed and burst into giggles. Seeing Paul as a ghost and getting to know him really did help her come perfectly to terms with death and dying and all of that rubbish. It wasn't as horribly frighting as some people made it out to be.

"Lets see if Christian can help us find some Nifflers? And then Paul... hey... could you do some snooping in slytherin and let us know if Peter is in the commons? That would way help us out."

It seemed like a diplomatic answer to the problem that and Poppet was an instant gratification person. She didn't want to wait until Hogsmeade weekend if they could get it done sooner than that. Maybe even today.

"If not Nifflers Im sure we could find something fun. Christian managed to get those pixies... last year so... maybe he has something just as fun if not just more pixies..."

Poppet was very gung ho lets go!

(Sorry took so long. Got distracted. Shouldn't happen again. Promise.)

(I had a whole long AMAZING post written and I bumped a button..and POOF! it disappeared! :( )

Christian sat a few tables over, a large schoolbook open in front of him. He wasn't studying, however. He was actually scribbling out every third word with a quill. As he finished, he held up the book to admire his handiwork. "Perfect!" The sound of his name reached him from a few tables over. He paused and slowly lowered the book as he tried to catch more of the conversation. At that moment a group of noisy first-years came in blocking most of the conversation. A few words still reached him...mainly Christian, retaliation, Peter, and Slytherin House. He smiled. It was time to get involved.

Standing up, he handed off the book to a small Hufflepuff. "This belongs to some little French girl. She'll probably want it back someday." Patting the Huff (not so gently) on the back, he weaved his way around the tables and slid into a seat next to Sajan.

"Some words of advice. When you're planning something of...well...questionable...undertakings. You might want to find a somewhat less public place to discuss it. Particularly if you are targeting members of the Slytherin House. Now...as for myself...I like trouble. But only if it is done right. I happened to have overheard...nice bird!" Christian poked the little blue bird with his finger. It squawked and flittered onto Sajan's shoulder. Christian shrugged. "I happened to have overheard you guys mentioning me. I need full details before I'll agree to anything. AND...I never take the blame. You guys get caught...you guys get in trouble...I had nothing to do with anything."

Christian really did have some loyalty to the Slytherin House. But most of his loyalty was with himself. Besides, he had heard rumors of a prank Peter was planning to play on Sajan. This was simply unacceptable. Christian handled all pranks. If anyone else from his house wanted to play one...they needed to go through him. At least that's the way he believed it should be. This could potentially be a great opportunity to get his House in line.

"Chrissy!"

After one year,he knew her well enough, to know she was the sort to randomly.... CLING! Of course she hugged him tight and cuddled to him a moment before pulling away in a giggle. She even gave a bit of a pout, she missed him when he wasn't around. Now that she was getting older she was getting aware that not everyone liked her as much as she liked them. Chrstian was the first person to be nice to her here, so of course she worried most that she and Christian were forever friends but maybe he had to not be so good of friends because of house differences, who knows. So she fidgeted a bit as she fretted about all that. Her giggle had turned to a nervous one.

"Oh... sorry... we're not as good at these things as you are. Thats why we need the expert."

If it was anyone else Christian could have accused them of blowing smoke but it was the way Poppet said it that was so sincere. His pranks were legendary, at least in Poppet's world. Sajan was brilliant to suggest him in the first place.

"Ok sure thing, mums the word. See... we were thinking to... er... maybe we talk out in the hall then?"

She took what Christian said to heart if if they were going to go over the plan again maybe they should do it in a less populated area. Maybe his asking was a test? Oh she had to stop over-thinking everything.

Paul drifted back through the floor, coming up from the dungeons after all and he nodded to Poppet and Sajan to tell them, yes, Peter was there. He would have told them more, that there were a couple others in there too but they hadn't asked that so he just lingered to see if they would. Or if they might need him for any other element of their plans.

Sajan moved Okie out of harm's way. "Don't touch my bird!" He was beginning to think that maybe getting Christian's help wasn't going to be such a great idea. He seemed to think so highly of himself. The pixie prank was pretty funny. And it was pretty epic and easily rivals anything done by Fred and George. It will be a long time before anyone else forgets it.

Sajan shook his head. "How do we know that you won't just go to the rest of the Slytherins about us? How do we know we can completely trust you?" It was always tricky trusting a Slytherin. However, Christian was still their best hope. They needed a Slytherin on their side or nothing would probably work.

He leaned in close and spoke in a whisper. They were in too far to back out now. "We can sum it up in one word...nifflers. Can you get us some quickly?"

Christian blushed slightly as Poppet hugged him tightly. He could never figure out why she didn't hate him like most other girls seemed to.

"Nah, we can talk here just fine now. Only a couple of Huffs around besides us and they can't do a thing."

He laughed as Sajan voiced his concerns. "You think too much. I have my own agenda. It just so happens that your little...plot...fits in perfectly with my plans."

His smile faded as Sajan mentioned Nifflers. "You're not planning on feeding Peter to a niffler, are you? Because he's certainly not treasure." He spent a few moments thinking. "Depends. Is your brother in town?"

His mind was racing. There was a lot to do in a very little amount of time. He turned to Paul. "Hang around for a little bit if you can. We'll probably need your help as well."

“Oh, ok.”

As always, whatever Christian said was golden. He was the first person here to be nice to her when they were first years and that always stuck with her. And then last year with the… with what happened in potions… he was there for her when she needed someone too. Christian was a knight in shining armor in her world and none could convince her otherwise. For all she cared he could do no wrong.

“Well nifflers was just the idea. Something to give a good fright to the commons is all.”

If he had a better idea, Poppet was all for it. Peter didn’t wear much jewelry but he did have an earring in or something but the nifflers might not notice that before they were rounded up and put away.
