It had to be done. Tommy slapped his hand over Draco's mouth to keep any more words from spilling out.

"Shut the @&$# up!"

Tommy snapped not wanting to lose any more house points because of Draco's fat mouth.

"Do you kiss your mother with that mouth Tommy?"

Voss teased as he sat behind him and propped up his book to at least keep up the pretense that he had been studying all this time.

Some how without anyone noticing her, Maya took a seat by Benny. Her hair, having slight pink in it, was pulled back into a messy bun. She smirked at Voss' comment before putting her head down and falling asleep.

Oh wow... Maya...

He smiled but she was already looking to Voss so Benny put the smile away.

Laurel got up from her desk and stalked over to where Maya just decided to have a nap and tapped her shoulder before shoving three large books on the desk that would have put muggle dictionaries to shame.

"Detention! Since you are going to sleep in my class Miss Porter, you will stay after for private instruction. Class dismissed, all except for Miss Porter."

Laurel made a gesture to the rest of the class to go ahead and enjoy the rest of their day since hers was their last class for that day. And she folded her arms looking down at Maya very cross. She was more angry that she Maya was forcing her to play the bad cop when Laurel really just wanted to play good cop and be friends with her students.

Maya's eyes shot open when someone tapped on her shoulder. She hadn't fallen completely waken up yet but as soon as she realized it was the professor waking her up, she sat straight up. She tried to think of an excuse but what could she say? She was tired and she fell asleep in class. There wasn't an excuse.

She leaned back in her chair as everyone else got up and left. Luckily she didn't have any where to go after class. So she stayed where she was and looked at the professor.

"I'm really sorry," she gave a slight pout.

"Yes Maya... yes you are..."

She didn't mean to snap at Maya like that but her behavior on top of Draco earlier, she was surprised she didn't blow up and give everyone detention.

"I would prefer it if you were not late to my class. Furthermore that you would not sleep in my class. I like to think that I am a very fair and patient professor but your behavior today was really trying my patience. How am I supposed to prepare you for OWLS if you do not have the courtesy to stay awake in my class?"

Maya sighed, she figured she might as well go for the feeling guilty tactic. She looked down at her hands, twisting her fingers in different ways.

"I know, I'm going to try my hardest to stay awake next time. First by starting to go to bed earlier," She smiled sweetly.

"That's a good start. Still... a weeks detention. And I want you to write a scroll comparing and contrasting two runic alphabets covered in our required reading today and no less than a foot in length. And don't write big to fill the space, I am on to that trick. For today your detention will be to work on that essay here for an hour then you may join the others in the hall for supper."

Finally Laurel walked away. She hated being mean to the students but if they misbehaved she had to put her foot down or she would be walked all over.
